hot weather start problem
Wifes geo, will not start but turns over. Wait until sun goes down some and it starts great and runs like a top. Changed gas cap, cap and rotor, fuel filter, pcv valve, fuel pump relay, and cleaned the shift linkage and all components in center console. Any suggestions. Egr seems ok,

Re: hot weather start problem
Got yourself a nocturnal metro!
I used to have access to a bunch of specs and wiring diagrams (this is almost certainly an electrical problem) so maybe the other guys can help me out. You need to determine what is failing during the day/heat. You need to confirm spark and fuel. Pull the coil to distributor cable off the distributor and have an assistant crank while you look for spark against the valve cover. Measure the resistance of the coil at the primarily plug connector. Look to see that the injector is firing fuel down the throttle body while cranking. Check fuel pressure either way. Check injector resistance either way then go from there. I'm sorry I can no longer provide spec's and diagrams ![]() -Matt
