Question 94 s-10 blazer 4.3 air intake hose?

vin w vortex

Ok so I was changing the air filter, i went to check and make sure my hose clamps were tight on the little 4-5" hose between the end of the plastic intake tube and the manifold. I noticed on the bottom side of this thing, there is a hole, looks like it was meant for a sensor, or some sort of breather tube.

Problem is, I cant find anything that goes there!

There is 1 rubber hose/tube that goes to this assembly farther down by the air filter(a breather or something) But I have no clue what goes to the hole closer to the manifold! (I can take pictures if need be)

Thanks for any help/replies!

That would be for your air temp sensor. Look real good. It should be there somewhere. it couldn't fall beyond the water pump.

The wire should be coming from the Driver side top of the motor. It will be going into a harness. Post back your finding.

Re: 94 s-10 blazer 4.3 air intake hose?

ok there is NO extra wire hanging or anywhere nearby. the harness that comes from drivers side, has a wire to a temp sensor on front of eng, to one on side, 2 wires to alternator, 1 to a sensor near the throttle cable, and 1 that goes up under the plastic deal that covers the intake manifold(the plastic that has the vortex logo.) thats it, there is no extra ones or anything cut off. Hmmmmmm kinda stumped, I guess ill take some pictures or better yet if anyone has a picture of this harness or a diagram, that would be great!

Thanks

ok, i have a picure or 2

this is the harness coming from drivers side, as you can see, everything coming from it has a home

What is tthis though going under the vortec plastic cover?

this is just an overview shot

in above picture the little 4 0r 5 inch hose from plastic intake tube to the actual intake is where the sensor is missing from, underneath side

Any help would be great ty

The wiring going under the plenum cover (in the middle of the pic) is for the IMTV, or Intake Manifold Tuning Valve.

However, the harness that seems to disappear just to the right of the MAP sensor - the one in the plastic loom - looks like the harness that my IAC valve plugs into. It definitely doesn't belong where it has been shoved.

Well i had assumed that was just the same "sleeve" for that one, but it looks like 6+ wires go in to it at the bottom and only 2 come out. Ill have to go outside tommorow and check back there. Thanks for the tip

Re: 94 s-10 blazer 4.3 air intake hose?

Hey i found it guys, it was hiding well. It took total darkness and a halogen flashlight, the contrast helped lol. Seems it comes out near the alternator, from that string of wires, and it was hiding well under there. Feel dumb that i missed it....

Plugged her back in and were good to go now. Thanks for the help!
