Lost Power

I am new to your forum and I do need the help.
I have a 2000 Winnabago motor home powered by a 2000 Ford V-10 Econoline. After the engine is under a load for about an hour it drags down on the power. Can't get it over 40 on a hill. The exhaust looks as if fuel is not being burnt. I changed the MAS air sensor ad two O2 sensors.

I'd start with the basics. New spark plugs and ignition wires, air filter element and a new PCV valve. A more high tech problem such as a plugged cat should be looked into. Put a vacuum gauge on the intake port. If the vacuum is less than 17 inches it's a plugged catalytic converter or muffler. I've seen the honey comb of the cat break up and plug the muffler on some Ford engines.

Thanks. I will check the vacuum as you suggested. I have a hard time with the plugs or wires though. It only has 30,000 on it and I only lose power after it's been under a load for a while. Can't get it to act up idling for a long period. I am now getting a code P0705 that has something to do with the trans. Where that sensor is or what it is I have't a clue

P0705 trouble code is Transmission Range Sensor circuit malfunctiion. You need a new transmission range sensor. It's a dealer item for about $50. It tells the ECU (Electronic Control Unit) which gear you have selected and will cause eratic shifts if it is bad. It's on top of the transmission where the shift cable goes into the transmission. Unbolt the shift cable, slide the shift arm into neutral and remove the old TRS. The new one is in the neutral position and will go right in with a tab to be aligned with. Also the TRS contains the park/netral safety switch to engage the starter. This little sensor could be causing your motor home to bog down after a while if it isn't downshifting to go up a big hill. Also, it will prevent the starter from engaging if the park/neutral safety switch goes out on it. Hope this helps. ~Dave~
