1. Has anyone replaced the rear window?
2. Where did you get the rear window? 3. Can you go to a store that sells plexi-glass or will I need to go to PAD for the window? 4. Has anyone put holes in the rear window? If so, what location, size and how many? 5. Am I right in think that if I put holes in the rear window it will cut down wind resistance and decrease drag?

Re: Need info on rear window
1. Has anyone replaced the rear window?
Not yet, but we will be doing it eventually as no amount of polishing will remove the haze. 2. Where did you get the rear window? We were talking w/ wire wheel about it. It's not a PAD specific part so well just be getting it from CV Products where we got our front one and cutting to fit. 3. Can you go to a store that sells plexi-glass or will I need to go to PAD for the window? Any place that sells lexan windshields can source it for you. 4. Has anyone put holes in the rear window? If so, what location, size and how many? I'm actually doing it tomorrow. I'm using my 2 1/4" hole saw and going to do 7 evenly spaced ones alont the bottom and maybe a couple at the top corners. I'm using the GT2 car on Wirewheel.com as a guide. ![]() 5. Am I right in think that if I put holes in the rear window it will cut down wind resistance and decrease drag? ![]() Not sure about wind resistance, but we want air flow through the cabin. Currently the shape of the car results in no wind flow in the cabin. I've got 2 clear naca ducts to install. Coupled w/ the holes it should promote some nice air flow through the interior.

Re: Need info on rear window
Thanks, I passed that BMW 3 times going into 10A and had the line going into 1 2 times and the guy would not lift and I did not want to wreck a real good BMW. The guy block me on the back stretch(I guess that's the mentallity of a BMW driver). I must admit I had a real good weekend. I ran my best times ever @ 1:39 and the car is really running good. I hate that I did not see you in the Padack but hope to see you and everyone next weekend.

Re: Need info on rear window
Well done this past weekend Mike.
Brian FYI..the two holes in the top corners of the GT2 car are for fuel dry breaks.. We just used lexan sourced locally for the rear window. I to doesn't really need to be anything special as it is on the back of the car! James www.wirewheel.com |

Re: Need info on rear window
I did the holes in the rear window - it definitely cuts down on the wind inside the cabin, can't really tell if it increase flow thru though....
I was also just considering purchasing a small sheet of Lexan from Lowes - they sell them just barely large enough for the rear....but vision may soon be a non-issue, I have a new idea that I am toying with for rear view...gotta get the engine swap done first..

Re: Need info on rear window
Mike, the material you want is Lexan MR10 in 3/16". That stuff is UV resistant and has a coating on it. A few of us got together to purchase via a guy that works for GE. I used the original window to roughly trace the size. After trimming to size, I taped the lexan leaving ~2" around the edge of the lexan exposed. Then I painted the underside of the lexan black so when installed it hides the plastic roof portion of the body underneath. I secured it with fresh button heads and it came out great. I have not drilled holes in the window but I think I may space the bottom of the window up with spacers to test the effects of relieving pressure back there.

Re: Need info on rear window
Will probably be there. I will have to put the good tires on to do the 1:39 thing again.
