The Phoenix is now 4WD !

Just for the Grins of it, I made my '95 Metro 3 cyl into a 4x4.

Found a metal "4 wheel drive" on a vehicle at the Pull-n-Save, popped it off
with my pocket knife and Gorilla Glued it on my metro.

Haven't been on this forum for a while.

The Phoenix, which I rebuilt several years ago is still going strong !

Well darn Bill, I was checkin to see what kind of stunt you had to pull to do that. Nice touch though. I've seen several cases where other emblems were put on cars.

Re: The Phoenix is now 4WD !

I haven't been just sitting on my butt.

I am replacing the Timing Belt and adding an Automatic Transmission Cooler to
a 1995 Nissan Pathfinder 4x4 on another forum.

http://npora.ipbhost.com//index.php?showtopic=23280

What started out as a simple thing flushed down as a big Lincoln Log when it
developed an oil leak.

I've learned quite a lot and Crvett69 has helped me a lot - he works on those
vehicles, too.

I had always wanted to put 4x4 or 4 wheel drive on my Metro.

Crvett69 tells me some guy on TeamSwift was importing a transmission - rear axle,
bolt on change over to actually convert a Geo Metro to a 4x4 for $900.

The 5 speed manual transmission that I rebuilt is still on the bench.

Ever since I added some 30 wt motor oil to the transmission (it is now fuller
than the fill plug), the noise has stopped.

So, I will try another winter and see if the Transmission is quiet when cold.

Maybe I did not need to replace it after all. Still have the clutch kit.

There's nothing to bolt it to, the floorpan is different.
