Tranny Oil

How often do you guys change your tranny oil? I think the last time I did mine was back in 2005 - about time? I've put about maybe 16,000 miles on it since.

Thanks.

Re: Tranny Oil

I change mine everytime I drop my trans, so about once every two months.

Seriously though, the interval according to the manual is to check it every 30,000 miles and to change it only under severe use every 30,000 miles.

I actually started laughing before I even read the punch line there.

Re: Tranny Oil

IIRC, it's the recommended fill from Getrag. My other car has a Getrag, and factory fill is 5w30. I've never had an issue with one and my last one had 158,000 miles on it on the original 5w30 with no issues at all.
