Dont be so certain.

I only have a base and manage to break mine quite often.

Re: What is my car a AWD or FWD?

Sounds like what my TSI did.

I leaned out hard and burnt some valves (as well as melted compression rings) so I bought a head as a quick fix til I could replace the whole engine. Finished up, got it in time and fired it up. Started up first turn of the key.

It idled for about 45 seconds then shut off.

See when you have a second person helping, that can really screw you over. My cousin had layed the washer that goes behind the crank bolt somewhere else and it never got put back on, so the crank gear slid off the crank and it jumped time.

I had to do ANOTHER headswap, back to the bad head, the same day.

Yep. High 500awhp on pump wouldn't really be all that terribley difficult for Hotshot to attain on his setup. As you said, VR4ever made that much running pig rich and was on stock heads. EVO 16G's give me nightmares.

Goodbye all my intake valves... Now it's at a machine shop getting the guides checked out to see if they got ruined too. OS valves are way too expensive to be bending like this.

thats cool that people in your area arent douchebags. and like everyone else was saying you can really take it as far as you want. i was just speaking from personal experience, and i wouldnt want people hating/vandalizing my car just cuz it was 'autofied'

Re: What is my car a AWD or FWD?

Now that i've read the rest of the thread....

700 at the wheels won't happen on EVOIII's
600's can, but probably not on pump
500's for sure, if I decide to turn it up from 17 to 20 i'll be over the 500 mark.

As for now, I've jumped the bandwagon to the AWD platform. I'm keeping the SL and will have it set for 500+ FWHP on pump, but I'm going to start concentrating on a fully restoration and build on the VR-4.

Anyways, a modded ATX, from what has been tested so far, is good for around 700 whp. After that, the input shaft to 4th gear will snap after a couple of runs.

It'll hold up fine. IPO has put plenty of abuse through the ATX's.

The Spyder is considerably heavier. I couldn't care less, in all honesty whether it blows up or not. I have a line on them for $100/each, so... for that price, I can blow 25 of them, and still be in it for less than a 6spd.

I find it funny, because IPO was the one years ago spouting off about how weak the ATX AWD transmissions were, and how they won't even hold wastegate pressure, etc when I was having my first ATX AWD TT built.
