2001 jimmy
Hello everyone,
I have a 2001 jimmy with 170k miles and recently 2 pc of rubber hoses burned. The connection originates with 2 metal pipes that are connected to the motor exhaust manifold on both sides. Proceeds with 2 rubber 90’s (that melted on 1st occurrence and burned hardness) continues with metal hoses, rubber again and to a T(melted on 2nd occurrence). The third hose is connected to some type of motor at the bottom front of the vehicle. I would like to know what causes this problem and what to do to solve it. Thank you very much in advance to all who will provide info. |

Re: 2001 jimmy
Sounds like secondary air system problems. Most likely the check valve failed allowing exhaust into the rubber hoses and melting them.
