The date is official for the 2nd Annual Great Lakes GeoPalooza - Saturday July 25th 2009

Geo Metro and all other "Econobox" owners are encouraged to join us. Members from other sites will also be invited to this gather on beautiful Lake Erie. Last year was a great success at Pymatuning Lake in NE Ohio.........

We hope this year will be even better especially since we have a prime location right on the beaches of Lake Erie at Lakeshore Park in Ashtabula, Ohio.............

We are going to be on the East side of the Main Pavilion rows 1 through 15 and will start the gather around 9:00AM until the afternoon and then that night we can also meet up at the Pymatuning Lake Drive-In theater.........

I already rented the Pavilion and will be supplying some food and refreshments. Others joining are encouraged to bring food, drinks, chips, etc to ensure everyone has a great time. There are so many thing you and the family can do in this area, so if you want to make a vacation out of this, you will not be disappointed.

Make your Hotel or Camping reservations early since Summertime is a busy time of year on Lake Erie and those of you traveling long distances should take note of other members profiles and locations and message each other if you want to pair up on the journey. It's not official, but I may also open up my property for camping/bonfire if some of you need something to do the night before or after the meet.

Bring your spare Metro/Swift parts for the gather for a mini swap meet.

Feel free to add any other ideas for the gather. I am also trying to get a bunch of stickers together also, but did not intend to go all out on this, so we will see.

This is a great idea, I often joke with my family that we need to go to geo metro convention. Every year I drag my family to Wisconsin for a fiero convention. Know I have an excuse for another family vacation!!

So far (it's only Feb) we have about 15 people attending and I am sure this number will grow. We even got guys (and girls) from as far as Oklahoma, Alabama, and Canada coming.

Here are some pictures from the 2nd annual Geopalooza today (if I actually got them uploaded to Picasa). What a great event! Johnny, his wife and who knows how many others put on a great picnic and a very well organized event. Over 16 cars and probably 50-60 people, and "a fine time was had by all" :thumb

No Convertibles?

I have to make this next year if I can get my deer damaged 1993 Convertible fixed.

Made it to the Capri Gathering in Indiana in August and I have to believe this one is every bit as good.

Keep us posted on the 2010 plans.

I will be sure to announce next years event just like this year, early enough so people can prepare. We had one vert there. It was Rick's Hybrid Metro vert from http://metroxfi.com and it was unique. Nest year there will be at least one more vert since I am getting one for the wife. Here are more pics..........
