Drove Odyssey to Colorado - now low on transmission fluid

We just got back from a trip on I-70 to the Rocky Mountains. Our 2001 Odyssey did well, but on the way to church this morning, we noticed the transmission slipping. I checked the fluid level, and it must have burned some in the mountains because it is low. We are taking it to the mechanic in the morning. Is there any hope for this car? Will more transmission fluid save it, or did we destroy it on the drive? We had the transmission replaced free (under Honda's extended warranty) 1 1/2 years ago.
