87 Caprice Classic brakes pulsate

Hi I have a 87 Caprice Classic with pulsating brakes when braking, I put new front rotors and pads, rear brake drums and shoes and it still pulsate when you brake, anyone have any idea what wrong.

When you put the new rotors on the car, did you clean them off first? They're shipped with a type of petroleum coating on them, to keep them from rusting in storage. It can be difficult to properly remove, but you must! If you don't, the rotors can develop localized overheating, leading to warpage and a pedal pulsation similar to what you are explaining. If the rotors are discolored when you inspect them, this will be your problem.

Hi yes I did clean them, I had them checked today and one was warped, I put the new one they gave me on and problem fixed.

I found this to be true also.
It happened to me once when I was replacing rotors on a friends corvette, two of them were not true.

You would think that a new rotor would be true but i guess some slip past the quality control checker especially if they are on an egg roll and tea break over in china.

auto zone drums from china,,, seen these n/g out of box,,,autozone told owner these new drums need to be machined...!

Hi I noticed a note in the box the rotors came in, It said no further machining needed, with the inspection persons signature. So much for inspections.

I used the Autozone Chinese rotor a few years ago. Got lucky, I guess. It was fine.
