Anyone successfully use the PI dash to time laps?

I know it has lap timer functions... don't we have to purchase some module? Anyone do it? Or are most of you guys just buying outside stand alone lap timers?

Thanks,
Brian

I checked into it once. I cant remember the pricing but it wasn't worth it. By the time your buy the add ons you can buy a cheaper GPS based system that is more convenient (no timer set up at the side of the track) and much more accurate, with lots of additional features. My PI is a pretty outdated system.

Re: Anyone successfully use the PI dash to time laps?

Gotcha... all I use the PI for now is water/oil temps, oil pressure, and fuel pressure. Usually I just leave it on oil pressure and use my analog tach w/ shift light. Works so much better in these cars w/ the high cowl. I never ever have to look down. I check my oil temp in the 2 straights at VIR and going under the bridge, that's it.

Guess I'll start looking for a good deal on a TraqMate.

Brian,
Santa brought me the TraqMate Complete for x-Mas last year. I still thank her everyday for it:
