1979 Camaro and a B+m shifter?

Hi
I am trying to to get my friend's camaro back in working order after previous owner cobbled it together They put a b+m ratchet floor shifter in, It shifts hard, No b/U lights, start's in all gears. Anyone have a idea how to wire the shifter to the neutral switch and adjust it?

On the driver's side of the shifter there is the micro switch with 4 spade connectors, I extended the wires from the switch on top of the steering column to the micro switch! I got b/u lights in rev,drive,2nd,1st, And still start"s in all gear's. Any ideas would be appreciated!!
Thank's,
Larry

you just need to lookup the shifter and make sure you have the right one. there should also be install instructions on their website. or you can call them (B&M). that micro switch is probably your neutral saftey switch.... just needs to be wired correctly.
