first i assume you have a alt not gen alt became optional on 1969. that said there is one plug in and one wire to batt.on alt make sure good conn on plug in then make sure there is voltage from batt on that single wire that is the wire that recharges your batt also i beleive that wire has a 14ga fuseable link protection so if that blows no charge. if its a gen change regulator. but if alt use either vom or test light to see if batt voltage is getting to alt do all this with eng off no need to run.
