boost problem
Alright, i have a 92 Plymouth Laser 2.0 turbo awd conversion fwd. I am getting a boost problem, my gauges (have 2 boost gauges) and they both say I'm getting 14lbs of boost on my stock turbo (don't even know how that is possible) but only sometimes will the boost actually speed up the car. sometimes it will accelerate like there is no turbo, and the gauge will read 14lbs of boost? where is all the boost going then, i looked at the hoses seemed to be fine. (no real cracks or anything... but im going to take a better look tomorrow underneath.) any ideas what it might be? my car seems to sputter when i start it and it idles, and when i drive in first gear it still sputters. and sometimes it sputters when the boost is engaging and pushing my car. Causing the turbo to cut in and out...even after it is warmed up still has the same problems... that about the full description i can give you on that.

as far as mods none, i put a new k&n air filter on it. but I'm almost positive that there are no mods done to the car. i got the thing like 2 weeks ago only. haven't had a good chance to look at it yet.

Wasn't sure on how to do the boost test exactly, might still be a small one but not enough to worry about. but i found out that is was a bad spark plug giving me a lot of the problems. still idles like a hunker but i can expect that with the 17 year old engine it in lol. but all the accelerating problems have been fixed with it. Man the kid that owned my car before, needs to learn how to do things the write way. found out that the boost gauge was not installed right as well. Now consistent boost of 9 psi.
