Re: TT motor swap q's

You need at least a TT pump. The motor mounts are the same but you need the TT front motor mount bracket. You also need a TT injector resistor pack, TT fuel pump relay, and TT MFI relay to go along with your TT wiring harness. Hopefully your TT engine comes with injectors too.

Re: TT motor swap q's

Not the mount. The mount bracket. All 3s motor mounts are the interchangable across all years and models. The TT front mount bracket that bolts to the block is different to clear the turbo. Other than that the mount bracket on the transmissions differ from FWD ATX, to FWD MTX, to AWD Getrag trans, but the mount itself is the same.

Re: TT motor swap q's

so the motor never showed up and the guy called demanding payment, i gave him the finger and said show me receipts. so this guy who has real parts and i saw them w my own eyes has the turbos, one manifold, heads pistons and rods. is it worth buying and trying to scrounge up other paarts for the conversion? does anyone else have the rest of the parts for sale?

the n/a trans will hold fine at stock levels, and even higher depending on how hard its driven. We have a FWD TT with the stock trans from the SOHC in there thats been running for 2 years now, at about 300whp. Thats of course without launching or tracking it.

Re: TT motor swap q's

The NA trans is very fragile.

I have fragged 3 diffs and a second gear. I bought one trans that was on stock TT power with a broken diff. I bought some trans stuff off someone else who broke one diff, replaced said diff with Quaife LSD then broke 2nd gear two different times.

Re: TT motor swap q's

For the MTX's 91-92 are one trans and 93-99 are a larger diff in the trans but SOHC and DOHC are the same.

For ATX there are more differences thru the years due to solenoids but SOHC and DOHC are still interchangable.
