89 Caprice U-Joints

I am about to replace the u joints in my 89.
Can anyone tell me how the factory u-joints are held in place?
Either with metal clips or plastic inserts.
The new parts came with metal clips.
Thanks for the help

Re: 89 Caprice U-Joints

Mine were injected plastic. A propane torch heated them up until the plastic dripped out....

Mine were also plastic injected. A 5/8 spark plug socket and a 3-lb cross pien hammer made quick work of it.
