98 crv sticking between gears

How difficult would it be to change the transmission filter in my 98 CRV? I've got the all wheel drive EX. The tranny is starting to stick between gears and the check engine light came on....code P0740-Torque Converter Clutch Circuit Malfunction. Would a tranny fluid and filter change fix this problem? I haven't done a tranny fluid or filter change since I bought the truck 4 years ago. I know, quite idiotic, but still. I've put about 100,000 miles on it in the past 4 years and am kinda worried about the truck.
