2006 Le Mans winning car

Last weekend I was in GA visiting family and went by PAD with my dad. Apparently the 2006 Le Mans winning car had just arrived. Thought some might be interested...

Thumbs up Re: 2006 Le Mans winning car

Was that the same car that won Sebring that year too?

Thanks for taking and posting the pics.

I don't think so. Those three drivers are shown driving the number 80 car and finishing 5th. Supposedly that white car in the pictures was a backup for the orange cars. It looked sweet.

Cool pics. I'm surprised Panoz would allow this much access with a camera. What did you do? Just show up and say, I want a tour of your shop???

The Panoz people are very nice. I didn't see anything someone buying a car from them wouldn't see. They have a number of buildings in different locations and the sensitive stuff happens elsewhere.

Re: 2006 Le Mans winning car

I wonder how hard this would be to do in our fibreglass roof:

No, not the decal, but the vent :o)

Interesting question Devin. I am really interested in the bonnet vent setup. Appears the GTLM has a laid forward radiator and the hot air that has passed through the radiator is then vented out of the hood via the louvered vents.

I assume that this is done to generate some downforce(?) as well as to improve cooling performance (slow air passing through radiator).

Anyone thought about doing this as would not be hard.
