95 Sunfire Halfshaft Keeps breaking! Please Help!

I JUST bought a 1995 Sunfire with the 2.2L and an automatic transmission. I was told it had a broken drivers side front half shaft CV joint/ CV Shaft which I guess is all the same thing. Also the car has aluminum rims except for the drivers wheel has been replaced with a steel wheel so I'm guessing the old rim was ruined when the original problem occurred. So I went to Autozone and bought a brand new drivers side halfshaft and installed it. I put it into drive and the car went 3 feet and snapped the boot and popped out. So I returned the halfshaft to Autozone and got another brand new one but this time a different brand. I installed it and drove around the addition slowly. The tranny shifts fine but then I turned the corner and the halfshaft busted again! Does anyone have any suggestions? Any help would be appreciated!!
