ac recharge procedure???

I was wondering what I need to do to recharge the ac on my 1997 olds 88. Not sure if it has r134, or r12. Or does that matter???

Re: ac recharge procedure???

You have r134, the system should be leak tested first, then evacuated , the system is drawn down and checked to see if it holds vacuum for 30 minutes, if all is ok then it is recharged, usually this is not a dyer type job if done properly. You could buy a Walmart recharge kit, but you can easily overfill they system doing this, and there is no leak test performed.
