2005 Caravan issues?

I'm considering buying a 2005 caravan with 3.3 litre. My last Caravan was a 1999.

I heard a lot of complaints about transmission failures when I had the 1999 and finally my transmission died too so I got rid of it. Apart from that it served me pretty well.

Before I decide on the 2005 I'd like to know if there are any known or common issues that I should be aware of first. For example, are the transmissions more reliable that the 1999's?

Anybody have any comments or experience?

Thanks.

Re: 2005 Caravan issues?

I'll give you my personal experience. I've had to replace the steering rack due to leaks, the multi-function switch twice, I'll be replacing the EGR valve this weekend and the power sliding doors tend to get shorts in the wiring harness. What's been very solid is the engine and the tranny. The tranny shifts perfect and the van has about 73kmi on it.
