Ive got a 1997 ram 1500 4x4 5.2L
The problem Im having is I cant seem to remove the nut that connects the yoke to the differential. I need to change the seal because its spraying all over the place and Im sure its not the differential gasket. I was able to try turning the nut with the yoke clamped in place and it still wouldnt free up. Any suggestions guys? Any input would be greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance. Re: Yoke and differential seperation

Re: Yoke and differential seperation
Get a puller from your local parts supplier. Most places have loaner tools.

Got it! The puller was the only way to go. Thanks for the help.

Re: Yoke and differential seperation
Good deal!
The one thing that wasn'nt discussed for this repair was the pinion bearing pre-load. If you took the time to mark everything before disassembly then you're all set. If not, I recommend checking out the autozone web site for your peticular repair or manual if you have one. The important thing here is making sure you don't overtighten the pinion bearing/crush sleeve asm. While your at it, check the U-joints. Worn joints cause vibration and will cause leaks at the pinion seal. Hope this helps, good luck.
