Power to accessories 98 GV 3.8L

The power to the accessories is turned off once the engine is turned off. I expect this is done to keep the battery from running down when high wattage appliances are used. Can I have continous power to the cigarette lighter in order to charge my cell phone or PDA devised?

Thanks in advance.

You could pull the cirarette lighter-power accessory relay and jump pin #30 to #87. It would be powered all the time that way. Be careful you don't run your battery down though.

I remember a thread from several years ago about an optional relay you can get from your dealership that will keep the accessory power sockets powered. Might ask them if it's available.

I'll be damned. I found it. Read post #3: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...ccessory+power
