Re: 90 caravan no power to coil

If your van is designed like later model vans it sounds like you lost the camshaft or crankshaft sensor signal. If the engine computer doesn't see this, it will remove the ground from the Automatic Shutdown (ASD) relay. This action opens the ASD relay contacts, cutting power to the ignition coil, fuel injectors and fuel pump and O2 sensors. Ckeck for power at the sensors and injectors. If there's no power then the sensors or their wire harness and connections are suspect.

It has a fusible link. Power comes into the ASD relay on the red wire witha white tracer. The fusible link is white. Possibly your timing belt has gone out ; remove your distributor cap and have someone crank the engine and see if the rotop turns. It's a non interference eng.

Doesn't have a roll over switch. Fusible link feeds the asd relay not the coil. Do you have power on the red wire with a white tracer at the asd relay with the key in the run or start position?

I asume that the asd relay is the plastic one? I do have power at the red/w wire in start and run

Wires at relay are dark blue. 2 dark blue with a yellow tracer at one post. Red with white tracer and last one is dark green with a black tracer.

Re: 90 caravan no power to coil

There is a pickup coil in the distributor.
http://www.autozone.com/autozone/cat...uestid=1197337 The not that the dist has to be removed is wrong. Take the dist cap off, remove the rotor and remove the plate and unplug it.
