Opel Ascona 400 Rothmans

Hi,

I finished it now rather quick. Rear wheels are replaced by items from Scaleproduction, they have better details.

WIP you find here: http://www.automotiveforums.com/vbul...d.php?t=934810

As a conclusion: a nice model for Opel-Fans, but for sure not a "Must-Have".

Re: Opel Ascona 400 Rothmans

Hello Sportracer,

Like the Ascona.
I drove two Ascona's-A.
When I ever see a Ascona-A kit I will sure buy it.

I like the model and you weathering is just enough and realistic.

Did it built easy or not?

Hi Micha, as said before - this one is a great piece of work. I especially like the weathering on the rear mudguards, looks damned real

Re: Opel Ascona 400 Rothmans

Waow !! very nice result ! lights are killing detail !
Although I would see a more black than brown weathering for MC cars, yours is perfectly made !!
I wish mine will end up so good !
I still have to correct and cast my wheels, because I think to build the 83 Safari version (not sure though... I would have to use two pairs of 5 spokes wheels with different deepness and I still even haven't modify one wheel...)
I see you've found aftermarket rear wheels, can you say more about them ? any reference ? Are they still available ? I can't find them...
Will maybe be easier to modify these than the original ones from the kit.

Very nice as ever, Micha

The streaks of mud on the mud-flaps killed me!

The wheels look a little bit too clean for me considering the amount of dirt and mud on the lower body but I am just nit-picking LOL The overall effect is great!

Did you hand paint the streaks/runs of mud on the mud flaps? If not how did you create them? Great looking model!! Your builds are always an inspiration.

Thanks for the comments !!

The streaks of mud on the mud-flaps are just brush painted with a fine brush
