Bought a 2003 Neon SE, 2.0L engine, with 82K miles. Changing the timing belt is recommended around 60Kmiles, right? Any safe way to tell if the timing belt has already been replaced?
What else can/should be done when having the timing belt replaced? What's a ballpark price on doing the timing belt replacement and any other items? Thanks! Last edited by timd; 07-17-2009 at 06:01 PM. |

Re: Timing Belt replacement
The timing belt has a 100,000 mile life. Some last longer...others shorter. Change the idler pulley and water pump at the same time.
I did all 3 in my 96 for about $100 buying parts from www.rockauto.com.
