Smile 98 Mustang Turn Signal Switch

My 98 Mustang turn signal switch needs to be replaced. Any one have experience in doing this? Does the sterring wheel and airbag have to be pulled?

Re: 98 Mustang Turn Signal Switch

Welcome to AF!

You have 2 clam shell halves on your column. Check underneath for phillips screws. If you can get the clam shell halves off you won't need to pull the steering wheel. So check down there first. This is the way the multi-function switch is on my Escort. It may be the same on your Mustang.

Re: 98 Mustang Turn Signal Switch

I see the screws that take the clam shells apart. The ignition switch also needs removed, how does it come out?

Re: 98 Mustang Turn Signal Switch

Not sure on your Mustang but on mine you disconnect the electrical connection, remove the 2 screws from the ignition key reminder switch and remove the ignition switch mounting screws.
