1999 oldsmobile silhouette air bag light illuminating
I have a 1999 Silhouette and the air bag light has started illuminating. It happens sporadically.I also noticied the stereo buttons, a couple of them stopped lighting up at night. anyone know what this could be? Is this anything to worry about?

I NEVER advocate going to the dealer for ANYTHING, except for airbag service.
Go to the dealer. NOW. Yesterday!!! |

Re: 1999 oldsmobile silhouette air bag light illuminating
there is a switch on the end of the seat belt that will make the airbag light come on if it isn't activated right. pull on the seat belt get it almost to the end and with a quick hard jerk snap it all the way to the end a couple of times . see if the airbag light still comes on if so it means something else is wrong with the airbag system and in the event of a wreck the airbags might not deploy. the dash lights are soldered in and have to be soldered loose and resoldered in. the mini bulbs are avaliable at radio shack. there are some post on here pertaining to them and how to do it. search for dash lights burned out. and they should pop up

Before you go to the dealer$$$$$ check under the front seat and look for a loose snap connector ( under the seat, 2000 it's yellow in color) . If you have a power seat, sometimes the movement causes this connector to come loose. Happened in my 2000 silly
