Re: Recap of 'Rest of the World' F1 Fleet
That is supposed to be the road car owned by Lawrence Stroll which has not been seen publicly for several years. Perhaps it's almost reached the 15-year mark where it can be road registered in Canada with no penalties. A car built in 1994 would be elligible next year.
A friend is trying once again to score the chassis number for us as it remains an 'unknown'. Keep those fingers crossed! ![]() >8^) ER |

Re: Recap of 'Rest of the World' F1 Fleet
There's no doubt from my source that this is the F1 road car that Stroll owns. The problem is that everyone at the dealership is being tight lipped over the car's mere existence and the chassis number as well.
My probable guesses are #002, #005 or #008 as those were all Brunei road cars and Stroll did a deal with the Brunei Investment Agency to purchase Asprey many years back, around the time that the car was first spotted at Mont Tremblant. Possibly there were a handful of cars he arranged to purchase at the same time? The other chassis number that seems a likely candidate would be what I believe was #012, the Tag Heuer F1 seen in Japan in the early years. The paint on this car looks slightly different than the dark silver that we see on #045, and past photos of #012, so perhaps its not the Japan car. This car has more of a silvery tone to the paint, though darker than the usual silvers found on F1s. If the Stroll F1 ends up being any other chassis number than those four though, I'll be quite surprised. Laws in Canada allow for the free importation of any car once it has reached the 15-year mark in age, so any of the 1994 F1s would be elligible in just a couple of months. Perhaps it's been pulled out and dusted off in order to start the formal importation and registration process. The rumor is that the car has been tucked away in an garage at Stroll's home for several years now. >8^) ER |

![]() I'm really curious about the chassis number. Can't someone near that place just ask someone about it? just the number seems harmless to most people, right? |

Re: Recap of 'Rest of the World' F1 Fleet
They're trying to keep it on the DL according to a local source and no details are available. In fact, for many years the people at the dealership had denied that the car even existed in Stroll's collection.
Like nearly everything else that has been a past mystery related to the F1, the details on this car including its chassis number will come out eventually. Until then I'll stick with my current theories - #002, #005, #008 or #012. >8^) ER |

Re: Recap of 'Rest of the World' F1 Fleet
Hmmmm, indeed.
I found a pair of smaller photos of the car here, along with the story: http://www.etravelblackboardasia.com...id=62165&nav=1 I'm definitely intrigued. The lighting isn't the best in any of these shots and so it's hard to put my finger on the exact color. In the second photo on that page I shared it's almost a match for the Aubergine #016, however the interior would be way off. In the other shots Greg shared it doesn't even look close to the color of #016. There aren't a lot of cars left that we don't know about that are possible choices which leads me to believe we could be looking at one we do know, post-refit. Just brainstorming here, but maybe this is the F1 we've long suspected as being #043, painted Black Metallic that was formerly in Japan. In previous photos of the car the lower section of the body was painted grey like the LeMans winner, but perhaps a new owner had that changed? This could be the silver car (#064 I think) that was at SPS in Hong Kong? They also had the white F1 out of the ZAZ collection, chassis #053. I'd be fairly upset if this turned out to be that car, but each owner is of course free to do what they wish with their F1. Macau is just a short boat ride from Hong Kong anyway. I'll keep digging on this. I like it when we discover something new - great work Greg! Just found the best news of all here: "The cars will be displayed from 1 June on Level 1 of the mass gaming floor for 6 months." ![]() I also watched a video that mentions the new property is expected to draw 50-60 thousand visitors per day, so these are unlikely to be the last photos we get of the car. >8^) ER |
