Question Transmission ID

I have a 96 GMC K1500 that I purchased used that now has 160k on it and I was wondering how I could tell if I have the original transmission or not. It has never given me any problems...

I am not sure how you can tell that someone replaced the trans. You can look at the id to see what year the trans was built but if they replaced it with one from the same year there may be no way to tell.
