Question Spring Changes Time

I have a 1998 F-250 Reg Cab Long Bed. I would like to make it a smoother 150 ride. I understand that I can probably take out the smaller leaf at the bottom of the pack ( the thin one not the fat one ) for starters. I can then buy stock 150 springs for the front, and be done with it. Is it that simple ?? The Ford dealer parts man says no way with without all the special magic Ford numbers on the door jamb etc. blah, blah. This seems like BS because when buying lift and lowering kits they only ask cab type, engine size, and 150, or 250, etc. If you look up companies that sell stock springs, the leaf springs specs. state specifically that 1/2 ton and 3/4 ton are the same width and length for my truck. The only difference is the 4 and 1 pack for 3/4 T and 3 and 1 for 1/2 T. Any help be belly belly goood, Tank-q

Re: Spring Changes Time

I dont know that i would trust a half ton spring on a three quarter ton truck... I think you'll be wasting time.. Superlift makes a soft ride spring for the front and rear.. be easier and safer..
