Bonneville a mess! Please help a lady out!

Here I am again hoping that you fine people can help me out. I just can't afford mechanics fees.

my bonny is a 98" and has been idling high for about a month, but has driven okay...Today it starting leaking major coolant and power steering went out. Maybe the serpentine belt is off?? It is overheating and lost all coolant I put in it. Should I check radiator cap and plug??

The idling?? Is this a timing thing? Anything I can do to fix this?

Also been raining lots here in Daytona (flooding) and all. We were not affected, but bonny filled w/ about 2 in" of water. Still filling up w/ afternoon storms. Anyone treied to caulk around the windows to seal a leak?

I am so sorry for all the questions...I guess I need to get this thing from overheating first, so whatever I can learn to get her on the road again!

Open the hood and see if the belt is intact, no way from here to know where your p/s and coolant is leaking from, agreed? High idle can be caused by dirty throttle body and idle air control, one of the more common causes.

Re: Bonneville a mess! Please help a lady out!

first off...how many miles on the vehicle?

If you've lost power steering and it overheated simultaneously, you've more than likely lost your serpentine belt..but this would also mean you've lost your A/C and alternator as well...so yeah...you definitely need to verify if that belt is still there.

If you've 'mysteriously' lost all the coolant in the engine...without much evidence of it being on the outside of the engine...there is a very good chance your lower intake manifold gaskets have given way and its going into your crankcase...or, a combination of that and your upper intake manifold's EGR stovepipe has finally found its own common weakness and your engine is ingesting coolant....either one is REALLY bad...especially if you've lost ALL of your coolant...it may mean the end of your engine if you don't act fast in reversing anything that's already happened.

Possible fixes:
New Belt
New APN UIM
New GM Aluminum LIM gaskets
Draining your oil, and I mean not now, but right now.
Checking your oil cap underside for condensation....it should be completely DRY and mildly oily.
Check your oil dipstick for color and consistency of the oil...if its milky and not brown, you've got a problem.

Report back with your findings...and we'll see how we can help from there.
