2.3 engine rebuild finally done! now?

i have had to rebuild my 2.3 SOHC in my 94 grand am se. it had spun a bearing on one connecting rod and then a different rod was frozen one month after i bought it. so i replaced the crank, rod and cap bearings, rear main seal, connecting rods, pistons, piston rings, oil pump and screen, water pump, thermostat, and about 230 dollars in gaskets. so the engine is in and everything is connected and ready to fire with all the fluids full. but i want to circulate the engine oil before i fire it and have metal on metal with new parts. so i was wondering how i can circulate the oil before i start it? i have removed the spark plugs and was going to just crank it over a little bit at a time until i feel that there is enough oil every where to start it. because after 5 months and about $1200 in parts and misc things needed i dont want to ruin it. so any advice im new to pontaics so im lost here. thanks any advice is much aprreciated.

If you used enough assembly lube you should be alright cranking it over.
IF this engine(cant remember)has the dumby distributor hole, you can insert an oil pump rod in there and use a drill to prime the oil up into everything.

well i did use assemble lube but think it might have leaked into the oil holes leaving the crank lobes metal on metal possibly idk. and what is the dumby distributor hole?and where would it be?

That is what assbly lube is for.
OK, I dont think your engine has the distrb. hole. If it did it would be to the rear of the engine(drivers side)held with 1 bolt.

yes i know that and i put plenty on. and no it doesnt have it. and i lowered my car and tryed cranking it over but all i got was a click i figured it was the battery so im charging it right now. if that doesnt work im going to double check my starter and all my wires. is there anything else that may cause it not to crank over?

If i was u i would pour some oil in cam housing because these motors have a check valve in head to keep some oil in the top for start up. I would also put a couple of drops in the cylinders( thru plug holes ). Dry starts suck!
