New car buying - Help!

Hi there! this is my first post so firstly hello to you all, secondly my dad wants a new motor....but here's the catch...it has to be a minimum of 8 cylinders, and it CAN'T be cam belt driven!! so basically i'm thinking chain belt...i haven't got a clue where to start to find a NON cambelt driven car! So..............

can you guys help please!!!

Money isn't an issue....so really i'm just looking for a list if anything of what cars are out there...

Just to clarify, You want a V8 that has a timing chain. You do not want a timing belt.

Chrysler offers the hemi in a couple of sedans, Pontiac offers the G8, Cadillac has the northstar V8.

You indicated that you're in the UK. Jaguar 32 valve V8s have timing chains.

thanks for the tips guys!!

We get the chrylser hemi over here, named the C300 though....

and jagaur is a good shout aslo i hadnt thought of that...

and in response, yes its a timing chain i'm after not belt! lol

Why not a timing belt?
I've never had a problem with cars with timing belts at all.
If you're after a V8 over here in the UK, what about the Vauxhall (Holden) Monaro? They do a 6.0 Supercharged version with around 500 lb/ft of torque.

Well my dads had many cars, one of which he's got atm is an R8 and that's chain driven instead of belt driven, and he says performance wise a reliabilty wise it's amazing compared to his GT3 RS....so he wants another one....but a saloon type, Passat, A6, 5 series, something along those lines so it's got to be a diesel lol
