R35 GTR - With Engine...

I see that both Aoshima and Fujimi are now doing an R35 GTR with a proper engine, rather than the molded insert that Tamiya include in theirs.....

Anyone have any thoughts as to which of these best represents the shape / stance of the real car ? Or is it not worth the extra trouble- Should I just stick with the Tamiya kit ?

I know there was a comparison thread when the original curbside kits came out, but searching for that thread in amongst all the other 'GTR' threads is like looking for a needle in a haystack.....

Thanks in advance...

David

Seen both in person. The Fujimi engine, to me, is better. It has the full exhaust setup and full undercarriage, full drivetrain. Now most of that is hidden anyway. But Aoshima cuts it short anyway. However, I'd take the Aoshima body over the Fujimi. I'm just waiting for Fujimi to release LHD with engine! But look Here for reference yourself. Fujimi is WAAAAAAAAAAAY more detailed.

I just added some pictures of the engine parts in my comparison thread.

Thanks for the links Frank...

Yes, Fujimi appear to have the better detailed kit....seems like more parts.
Multi-piece rear wing, and those brakes..... Betting they find their way onto many kits....

I've not seen any of these yet....but might have to put an order in @ HLJ very soon....

I find the Aoshima body to be disappointing vs. Tamiya and Fujimi. The Fujimi body would be perfect except it lacks the very subtle "flat" detail contour around the grille opening on the fascia. The Aoshima roof cantilever shape is off (slightly flat, slightly too much rake), the aluminum emblem on the front fenders is too thick, wheel/tire combo looks a bit small, etc. etc. If not for Fujimi and Tamiya it would be okay, but competition is tough. Fujimi is the best bang for the buck.
