blend door for heat/ac
does anyone know where to locate the driver side blend door for my 2002 olds intrigue? its blowing heat on driver side and cold on pass side. ive read alot on here about the pass side blend door but nothing about the driver side. just wondered if that might be my problem. yes i have dual air control. to eleborate a little more......it has always worked properlly, the only thing out of ordinary is it sat alot over the winter and batterie died while it had been on heat. could that have something to do w it?

Re: blend door for heat/ac
The blend door is in the vent system under the dash . Put your question into the forum search feature and there should be much info that will pull up .

This is 6 months later, maybe this info will help someone else. The same problem existed on my 1998 Intrigue. It turns out that sometimes the position the blend door's "home" position has changed. You said your battery died while the heater was on. So now, THAT position is the HOME position for the door. If you think of the blend door as half a clock face. "9" is full cold, "3" is full heat. Say you had it at position "11". When you reconnected the battery, "11" became the new home position, which is partially open. To repair, turn the mode knob to be off (full cold). Disconnect the battery. Wait 10 mins. Next, connect the NEGATIVE cable first, then the POSITIVE cable. (This is opposite of taught procedure). This will cause the door to properly reset home position. |
