I know Bugatti has a quad turbo setup, but who can afford a Bugatti? 3 turbos isn't difficult to design for a 6 cylinder because it's simply 2 exhaust runners per turbo. 4 turbos would be difficult because you'd have to split runners in two somehow in order to get 1.5 runners per turbo. Getting it all to fit in that cramped engine compartment would be another story. You could try 6 turbos, one per runner.

Re: The Triple-Turbo Supra?

Toyota is actually working with there R&D dept. on a quad turbo 2.2 Liter 4 cylinder. Its supposed to put out well over 1400 hp and 1000lb/ft from the factory. It began as a closet project to combat Dodge and Ford in the Drift GP world and they expanded the scope of the project to include the private production market at well. I would expect to see a prototype release somewhere in 2011 at one of the autoshows such as LA or Detroit.
