Looking into purchasing an '87 Honda Civic, but the bottom of the three bar fuses (you know what I mean) is fried from a short somewhere in the electrical section it's hooked up to. Does any one know what part of the electronics are hooked up to this particular fuse, so we can maybe disconnected some of the things or bypass it?
The fuses aren't called bar fuses, but they are under the hood, and look like flat pieces of metal. Thanks! Chris. |

Re: '87 Civic - bottom of the three bar fuses shorting out...
its jsut one of the main battery fuses could be form a number of things being shorted out from somebody changing something and forgettgin to disconnect the battery then shorting the wire while removing part of an electrical system go buy a fues super cheap adn start the car if it runs and see if it blows again if not then its porbably got nothing wrong and blew from a mechanics error

Re: '87 Civic - bottom of the three bar fuses shorting out...
It was fried, so we stuck a wire between the sides and it was sparking when the battery was being reconnected. Something is shorting in the wires/electrical systems connected to this fuse.
Do you happen to have some sort of wiring diagram you could scan, or maybe just a quick list of the major components connected to this particular fuse? If you did, that would be magnificent. Thanks! Chris
