why ? if you have a small leak replace all the fluid and add a p/s seal conditioner....give it a couple of weeks ....

replace the fluid every 5 years...

you have to replace the fluid ,,,,then do the sealer ...usually a few ounces over 2 weeks and it will stop....replace the fluid the seals will soften slowly....my vehicle had some leaks 2 years ago and its still fine ...also my 2000 sil had some leakage did both both still good..

used this product on other vehicles...never fail to stop the leak...

one time the output seal blew on a vehicle that was damaged by an accident that seal was a messey job..if that is leaking I would have a shop do it..

when I say blew I mean oil just drained out puddles...the seal on removal was cracked..

it must be the output seal...does it leak at the pitman arm steering box output shaft??? if so this seal should be replaced...

after removal of the pitman arm and the C clips that lock in this seal ...start the engine and turn the steering wheel hard left/right the high pressure will blow out the old seal....then re-install new...

if the vehicle was with damage to the front wheels ,,,this seal will crack...hitting curbs other vehicles etc....

Re: 1995 caprice power steering gear box

If the front end got wacked hard enough to cause a PS gear box to leak perhaps you should consider replacing the whole unit.
$160 at advance auto. Probably cheaper at a salvage yard.
Seals cant stop a leak if the housing is cracked.

replacing the rubber seal is what is most likely the problem...as I stated before a good whack will cause the SEAL TO CRACK...not the housing being cracked...
