Exclamation couple of problems need answered asap

hi have a 2000 v6 mustang its a manual....not sure if one thing is causing all these symptoms so i'm asking u guys...k first thing is when driving there is a rough sound coming from the front end almost sounds like the wheel bearing but not sure doesn't do it all the time but most of the time...u can feel it too...the other thing is sometimes when you brake the front end shakes..was thinking warped rotors not sure...other thing is when u go to stop there is a loud pop but once inawhile it will pop when your in first gear...just today it popped while in first gear and taking a turn...u can feel the pop can't really tell where its coming from sounds like its coming from either the frontend or directly under the floorboard maybe it could be the driveshaft? another problem is when the car is idleling and the idle goes up a little bit or u run the air the whole engine shakes i'm thinking that is a motor mount but wanted to see what you guys think.so if you guys could give me your advice that would be great cause i don't have my camaro running so right now this is the only car running so kinda need it...thanks everyone

Noisy wheel bearings can sometimes become quieter when under a lateral load, such as when cornering. Does the rumbling go away when you are cornering?

Shaking when braking is almost always warped, out-of-round, or uneven rotors or drums. Either have them machined or get new ones. If the steering wheel vibrates, its the front ones, If not, the rears may be at fault.

The popping may be worn suspension or steering component, tie rod end, ball joint, etc.

no the noise goes away when going straight and will also start when going straight it just does it whenever...i just talked to someone and they said definently warped rotors and the popping can be the brake pad or the brake caliber hanging up cause of the rotors being warped...starting to think the noise has to do with the brakes...

I would suggest never downshifting the car into 1st while the car is actually moving. That is not good for the tranny.

With all due respect, I disagree. Virtually all manual transmissions have synchros on first gear to permit this kind of shift. It is no different than any other downshift performed when moving.

FWIW downshifting any synchromesh transmission into any lower gear (without double-clutching) causes more synchro wear than upshifting.

I usually double-clutch all my downshifts for this reason, But many people don't, which is acceptable.

No worries, I completely agree with your explanation. I do not question what you say. What I do say is that too many people downshift into 1st when moving at either too high of a speed or they do not rev match and this causes quite a shock to the drivetrain. Add to that I have pretty much never experienced the need to go into 1st while moving except maybe when moving under 5mph rolling up to a red light. Second gear can take you from a start if done properly so in my mind there is no need to ever downshift into 1st. Hope this explains my statement better.
