Starter trouble

I have a 99 toyota tacoma with a 3.4L v6. when i go off-roading and go through deep water it gets the starter wet. for about two weeks after when i try to start the truck it will just click. i will have to turn the key about 10 times before it will actually start. does anyone know how to fix this. i dont know if its a problem with all tacomas, im pretty sure its not. the answer is not to stop going through deep water, thats like telling a person to stop eating. it doesnt work. thanks to anyone who tries to help.

Re: Starter trouble

Go to the frequently asked questions at the top of this forum. About two posts down you will see this "STARTER CLICKS ONCE BUT DOES NOT TURN ENGINE" The solution to your problem is in one of the links posted. It is a fairly common problem.
