hardtop question

will a hardtop from a 1989 bmw 325i fit a 1995 325i?

One car is an E30 chassis and the later is an E36 chaise. I do not think they would fit. That would be like saying a hard top from a 1960 Corvette would fit on a 2005 Corvette.
