Anyone know how many Panoz RC/WC Cars were made?
Just wondering if anyone knows how many cars Panoz wound up making. My car is #28 bur Chasis #18. I have been told that the numbers were changed every weekend(at least at RA). The reason I was told that that was done was to keep the drivers from giving the people a hard time about which car they were put in.

That number would make sence. I was told that they had 4 of each number that was ran. I heard they sold Jones and Wire Wheel around 60 cars in Braselton and I know they had cars in Texas. Not sure about anywhere else.

Re: Anyone know how many Panoz RC/WC Cars were made?
I bought series car #25 from panoz in November of 07. They sent me a list of the series cars. There were 28. Of that chassis #'s 2,11 and 15 needed major body work or had bent frames so I don't know if they were repaired or scraped.

Re: Anyone know how many Panoz RC/WC Cars were made?
I think Gary told me his guess was that there were about 80 school cars. I think Hayes Harris and he each sold about 20 cars, some of them WC's. They could be more specific.
Keeping track of posts on this forum, I have identified 35 school cars (RA, Sebring and Texas combined). Of those 22 have listed chassis numbers, the range is from 2 to 51. It is possible a couple could be duplicates after resale. That spread seems to validate Gary's estimated number of school cars. I have also identified 15 WC cars from this forum with 7 of those having listed chassis numbers which range from 3 to 20. If the forum representation of the RA and WC cars is roughly proportional, I'd guess there might be less than 40 WC cars. Together, RA (school) plus WC (series), probably no more than 120 cars, probably less. Just my guess based on the chassis number spread on this forum. The GTS cars are harder to estimate based on this forum because they tend to be less represented. I'd be surprised if even 25% are on here based on the number I've seen racing here in Texas versus being on the forum. Of the 12 GTS's known on this forum, the highest reported chassis number is 55, but there are only 4 with chassis numbers recorded. As always I'm looking for more specific information to include in the registry ![]() Mike |

Re: Anyone know how many Panoz RC/WC Cars were made?
Thanks for all the info. I don't know how everyone else feels but I must say that I am as proud as I can be owning a Panoz. I personaly feel it's one of the best bang for the buck. We(Panoz Owners) have in my mind a great race car. I know at the Mitty my car got a lot of attention from everybody who walk by. I am looking foward to doing the test day this coming Friday ar R A and running the NASA weekend at R A June 13 and 14.

Dawgfan,
Agree 100%. There are enough that we can help each other out with tech and parts, not so many that they lose the special nature, they are great drivers, easy to maintain and best of all is that they are begging for upgrades. The innovation of the owners/racers here is just amazing with plenty of sharing of changes. Way cool. We even have reasonable professional support since the GTS is still being produced and seriously raced by guys who know how to go fast. Mike |

Re: Anyone know how many Panoz RC/WC Cars were made?
Yes they do, I have been on the track and they come by and all you is a blur. I know that if you want to spend the money you really get some speed. I will for the time being settle for the 150ish on the back stretch at R A. I know it's a blast running the cars and the biggest rush that I have ever experienced including palying college football at UGA. There's nothing like it. I would also like to add that as far as safety, I feel safe in the Panoz. I feel that a lot of engineering was put into the cars. I know the cars were negelected at the Panoz School/Series events and needed some TLC from all of us when we got them.

Hey Gator, I can send you Bulldog to put on your page if you want. I could have about any car out there and bought a Panoz. To me there is nothing like it.
