Unhappy 2000 Blazer Stuck in Third Gear

On my way home last night I noticed my Blazer was not changing gears. When I stopped it was extremely difficult to get moving again, and when I got up to 55 the rpm was 2500. Usually when I get up to 55 the rpms read 1500 or a little lower.

We take really good care of the Blazer, always change oil, check the fluids..ect... and it has about 84,000 miles on it.

I have no idea what is wrong with it, as I am no car expert by far. My father says it has something to do w/ the computer, but he is not sure what. He said if the transmission blew, I could not move. And I defintly can, just always in third gear. When I manually put the Blazer in Gears 1 2 and 3, it works. But not when I have the Blazer in drive.

Does anyone have any possible ideas of what is wrong? Is it the transmission that blew, or is it something with the computer? Plz post!

Yes the SES light came on. We will have to go get it checked then.

P0756 - Shift Solenoid B Performance or Stuck Off

Schematic

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
The 2-3 Shift Solenoid (SS) valve controls the fluid flow acting on the 2-3 shift valves. The solenoid is a normally-open exhaust valve. With the 1-2 SS valve, the 2-3 SS valve allows four different shifting combinations.

When the VCM detects a 1-2-2-1 or a 4-3-3-4 shift pattern, depending on the state of the mechanical failure, then DTC P0756 sets. DTC P0756 is a type A DTC.

That's one of about a dozen different codes that could illuminate the SES light, and put the transmission in limp mode. Let's wait until she posts the code number before guessing and posting what may be misleading information.

I understand it can be hard to come up with a solution with only limited information if you know what i am saying. But i got this from another forum that waz the same question and was answered and it seemed correct. Who knows if this user will even post again. They come and go sometimes.
