boost question

i got a quick question. whats the most boost you can push on a stock 94 vr4? much appreciated.

To be 100% safe, 14 psi. Some people will go 14.5 (like me) and even some as much as 15 psi but 15 is really not reccomended without first getting a datalogger to see if you are getting knock at that much boost. If you have a boost controller just keep it at 14 psi for the street and if you go to the track feel free to turn it to 15 to do a couple runs. Plus, after 14 psi, the stock 9B's get out of their efficiency range.

Before you turn up the boost you want a datalogger and a REAL boost gauge. Do NOT trust the stock gauge as it is NOT a real boost gauge.

thanks a lot. right after i bought the car something fried. my check engine light came on, the stock boost gage doesnt work, it idles weird when you first start it. before all of that it said it was pushing 14 at least according to the stock boost gauge. im going to be taking it to 3sx in concord NC to get it tuned and fixed pretty soon. thanks a lot everyone.

Stock boost gauge doesn't mean anything. It measures load not boost. You could boost 9lbs and it would show 14lbs.
