I feel your pain also. It is hard to save any money. You have some set aside then before you know it it's gone.

Pawn went well.. sold a set of old heavy duty type home entertainment speakers for $10/pair (gas money). then a few games and a console and got $24 out of that. Paid for more gas and a new set of brake pads lol. Its not so bad anymore... I only lost $2

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

I heard on the news the other day that Blogo wanted the Judge to ok a trip out of the country to be on a game show. I think that he thinks that people are that stupid. Once he would leave he would never come back to the US. It was going to pay him $80,000 per episode. The judge told him no, I guess Blogo got real pissed off. I guess that the show was going to have 10 episodes. That would have been 800k for the crook.

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

Pawn shops are crooks, almost as big as Blogo.
And crooks, they get all the good deals.

Pool halls are short to come by around here, unless you goto a bar with crappy damaged tables from the drunks beating on them.
I have one in my basement but I hardly play on it anymore. It's kinda beat up too, with 6 kids and all.

TG its almost tuesday......

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

XI, would it be worth it you think to do a gm rebuild kit on my worn v6 motor with the addition of some valvetrain upgrades, a mms stageI cam, PnP UIM/LIM... and a zex dry setup?

It depends on how much the GM rebuild kits costs. But it is worth rebuilding if it needs it.
Ive worked on hundreds of these 3.4(3.1s) and not ever had to rebuild any blocks.
Usualy just head jobs... that didnt sound right.

Looks like some more storms~rain in on its way this afternoon. I think we've had enough rain in these parts for the time being, send it to Cali fires.

I should be at the track for the 500 practice today.

Have a great safe weekend everyone !

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

But is your front yard flooded. I see that GM announced the closing of 1,100 dealers. But GM refused to name the dealers the will be closing.

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

lol no my front yards never flood, that would be a drag. Though I have a pond thats overflowing quite often these days. Luckily I installed an overflo pipe to drain excess water down hill from everything. I know We got pounded with rain and wind lastnight!

Yeah we'll know which GM stealerships will be closing soon enough. I bet most all Pontiac dealers will close, and keep the Chevy one's since thats their main focus. Chrysler is closing almost 800 dealers.
I realy dont see how closing shops/stores is going to help any of them in the long run. Just going to piss everyone off and they'll go buy Honda's and Toyota's.

On a side note, I did sell the GT lastweek for $8k.
Then today, in a local paper, I find a 99 TA w/78k miles for $6800.
If it's not red, I'm probly going to buy it.

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

If you get it will be just like McDonald's you will get change back. I have not been able to mow the back yard and the grass is getting very long. I tried to several days ago and I got the lawn tractor stuck. had to have the wife get on the tractor and I has to push. Part of the front yard is not done has standing water. We do not need any more rain for now.

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

Sounds like you've got a pound too then. Plant some water flowers and throw in some fishes, call it a day.

Yeah their is some flooding around here. I've pulled a couple fools out this past month. If they would have just looked at the road signs almost under water, they might not have gotten flooded and stuck.

At least its nice today !

Re: Grand Am Off Topic Thread

Matteson IL, has 2 viaducts that always flood when it rains hard. This ditsy(my friends words, not mine) blond drove her car into the flooded viaduct. She runs into that bar at the hotel that is right there. She is screaming my kid are in the car. There was an off duty paramedic who I knew and also an off duty Matteson cop. They got to her car just in time. The water was just covering the windshield and the roof. The kids were in the back seat so the water did not reach them yet. Now when the viaducts flood Matteson has installed gates across the road so people can't drive into the flooded viaducts. Also has yellow flashing lights.
