Re: 1:12 Tamiya Jagermeister 934 Turbo RSR
I wasn't able to open your message because my browser blocked it and then after I adjusted the popup blocker it wasn't there for me to open again. As for the SMS 935 kit - I don't know how much you need for it. I have one SMS kit that I got from a guy in Norway for $450.00 USA dollars. He said he has 5 more kits to sell so if you cannot match his price I'll probably just order thru Morten Roesok - if you're interested let me know - John18d - I have been building scale replicas for 35+ years now, but I have only recently joined the forum. Hope to have some of my builds on the forum soon.

Re: 1:12 Tamiya Jagermeister 934 Turbo RSR
Hi John18d, I hope to use most of my SMS set. I saw the guy in Norway selling the sets, they are a very good price, if I were you I would grab one of them off him,

I would recommend buyer beware! IIRC it is an Ebay scam, where buyers won't get the kit. I think I saw it somewhere - maybe in AF? Anyway great model! Very well made indeed! I would recommend though to get your Digital SLR cleaned. There are a lot of specks on the pictures which is not background, but simply on the chip behind the mirror. These days autocleaning chips are all the craze, but I'll bet that your camera doesn't have this feature - mine doesn't either... All it take to dust the chip is a change of lens on a windy day in a dusty place. It is quite frustrating! Cleaning is easy with a bit of caution. Do not blow with your mouth into the camera! Use a little handheld blower 'bubble' and point it into the camera in 'sensor cleaning mode'. This mode is on Canon cameras selected in the menu. Activate it an the mirror opens and ot is possible to see the sensorchip. Point the camera opening downwards and blow up onto the sensor and let dust have time to sort of leave the camerabody. Take a couple of blows and reattatch the lens. Take a picture up in the blue sky with F-stop on the highest it can get like 32 or something. If there are more specks do the same again a couple of times. There will sometimes be specks that are harder to get rid of. I have tried my hand with wet cleaning but find it messy and expensive with the special 'shovel buds' that is one shot only. A better solution is a special sensor cleaning brush that remowes dust by the use of static electricity! Sounds spooky, but it isn't. There are two ways - on called a butterfly which is practically a brush mounted on a Dremel! It is quite pricey though, so a more econimically viable solution is the manual version with a brush and a small blower. After the brush has been treated as per instructions - one time only: Washed and dried, it can be 'charged' with the blower and the brush can then lightly be moved across the sensor and by that attracting the dust particles. When I heard of this I said... yeah right! But it actually works. This a onetime investment, so I'm now checking my camera before photoshoot to avoid removing specks in photoshop afterwards. Hi Flemming, I have been meaning to do something with my camara for a long time, a real pain, our local camara shop said they can do it, safer than me doing it!

Naturally they can do it... at a price! Here in Denmark it is anything from 75£ to 100£ each time :-( I'm using my camera a lot, and just a single lensechange in windy conditions can send you back to square one - I learned it myself! Same thing I did with straightening and building bicycle wheels many years ago, but that is another story ;-) Flemming |
