Re: Headers for the 4.6
FWIW, I have an 04 mustang cobra that I open track. It has a supercharged 32 valve 4.6. The only difference is it has an iron block. Ford racing actually sell an aluminum block called the aluminator (nickname of the cobra is the terminator). Only issue with the supercharger is heat. I’ve completed all sorts of cooling mods on the cobra and after 20-25 min it pukes coolant.
I must admit that the possibility of super charging the Panoz’s 4.6 has piqued my curiosity. I think our cars pass more air through the radiator then the cobra, and you can buy an original Eaton roots style supercharger and intercooler take-off cheap from someone on the mustang sites. The cobra’s 4.6 has been modified slightly and puts down 479.9RWHP @ 6,000 and max torque 482.1 @ 3,750 RPM.. I’m not sure it will fit under our Panoz hood though.!!!

Re: Headers for the 4.6
I think the hood will be an issue with a super charger or even a newer 4.6. I'm not sure what I'm going to do, just trying to get as much info before we make the move. I will say one thing, evryone on this Forum has been very helpful and I do appreicate it very much.

Re: Headers for the 4.6
The 03+ Cobra motors have a fully forged bottom end though. Isn't the stock WC motor just a bunch of stock cast parts? The weak point of these is the rods/pistons, not the block itself. The aluminum blocks have withstood over 2,000 horsepower.
