Re: Hey Dawfan

That was me. I had a great time and brought the car home all in one piece. That was a real learning weekend. I learned alot about the car and the handling. I am surprised how good the car handles. If I put it in a curve it will stick. I would like it to be a little faster but that will come with track time and finding some horse power. I owe the world to my crew that came together for me. Bill Boye, who has raced and knows everybody in the world, Dean Goodrich who is a great mechanic and Casey Carden who is the greatest 20 year old youg man that knows R A better than anyone. I did not run as good as I would have liked to but man I love it. I will give you my cell # if you will send me the pic.

Re: Hey Dawfan

I was down in the Gary Jones pit almost all of the time helping them out. I kept meaning to get up there to meet you...but just could not break free. Gary told me he enjoyed talking with you and that you had a great sense of humor! Did you get a chance to look at the GT RA he had down in his area? 347 monster engine, Jereicho tranny....probably the most expensive school car out there!!! Anyways I will get eric to post the grid picture I got on my phone.

I am glad you had a great time. When Gary was testing that GTRA he said he was making some of those dark green jaguars mad cause they could not get past him. Hehehehe.

Re: Hey Dawfan

I did meet Gary, he is a very nice guy. I did see the R A car. Man what a car, that's a real HOT ROD. I was impressed(and that's not easy)on how nice everyone was. I am looking forward to running as much as I can but I'm not sure about Watkins Glen. We may run a test day at the enc of the month with the SCCA guys or go to Barber. I'm just not sure yet. My email address is southeasternexc@bellsouth,net. Send pics or email me anytime. I hate that we did not meet but I'm sure we will before long.

Re: Hey Dawfan

They put me in Group 9, not sure what class. It's a W C car, but needs some speed to keep up. All I could get was 125 on the back strech. Working on that problem know.

Re: Hey Dawfan

Dawgfan,

I wouldn't rely on the speedometer from your pi dash. A better way to measure power is to dyno the car.

Re: Hey Dawfan

I am sure we will meet soon as well. I too was sad I could not break away. I really felt HSR put you in a wrong class. What times were you able to turn in the car?

Gary is also a great source of Panoz information. So stay in touch with him. He has parts too laying around. I think he might have a 4.6 crate motor but not sure. He is doing some work on my car. I had them pull the PI system and am moving to analog gages and a traqmate system. I am also going to have them replace the glass with lexan/plastic.

Gary was trying to get me to go to Watkins Glen but the dates do not work. They have another date in September with the SVRA or something like that in Watkins and I might try to make that. Tom C who owns that RA you saw will be racing at Watkins in June.

I am also on the waiting list as a novice for the June 1 CHIN event at road atlanta and I am going to the MX-5 Skip Barber school on May 25-27 at Road Atlanta...so atleast I will get more track time and some good schooling.

I did get to put the BMW on RA for the touring laps at the event so that was fun...nothing like hanging back and making a good run at the S's and down the back straight for turns 10a and 10b. What fun!!...The blind shot over the bridge to the front stretch is very unnverving, plus I did not know if the pace car had slowed the group down or not!!!

See you soon.

Tom

Re: Hey Dawfan

Gary mentioned Watkins Glen to me but the dates are not working for me either. I am going to do the track day at the end of the month and might do the SCCA but not sure they will let me. If you do the Skip Barber School try to get Bill Boye or Casey they are the best they have. Not sure I will make W G this year but I do want to do Daytona and Sebring if possible and try to make a weekend at VIR. I think all 3 would be a great place to run. My best time was a 1.46. Not proud but that is it. Going to Dyno in the next week. I don't think I am making the h p that I should be. Radar Gun showed 124 down the back stretch. I am being told it should up around 140 to 145. That RA car is one bad boy. Love the Panoz but we have alot of work to do. Hope to see you soon and let me know when you are in town and we will get together.

Re: Hey Dawfan

Who is putting on the show @ CMP in June? That me be a real possibilty for me. I just have to go to work and try to make some money or get on our socialist presidents mailing list. PresBo has not put me on his mailing list yet.
